Goose Island State Park

With our goodbyes behind us we hit the road for Rockport, TX. Harlingen had a forecast high temp of 90 degrees today. We arrived at Goose Island State Park and the temp was about 15 degrees cooler.

There are sites on the water, across the street from the water and sites in the woods. With the previous rains the mosquitoes are many and  will carry you away!

The state replaced all of the shelters last year.

The park is a destination for fishing. A 600' long fishing pier extends into Stuart Bay. You do not need a fishing license if you fish from the pier. The state fishing laws need to be followed.

Entrance to pier

Several fishing tour boats leave from the park.
