Galveston Historic District
Also known as the Strand Historic Landmark District takes in about 25 square blocks that is also one block from the Cruise Ship Terminal. The 19th century Victorian District offers over 100 restaurants, shops, attractions, art galleries and antique stores.
A few blocks away are restored Victorian era homes that have been fully restored and some are on the Historic Register. You could spend several days driving around the various area of homes and still not see them all. There is also a Tree Sculpture Tour that is a self guided tour where you can view trees that were saved after Hurricane Ike and were turned into sculptures. Most are on private property but can be viewed from the public streets or sidewalks.
