Port of Galveston,TX

The Port of Galveston also known as Galveston Wharves started as not much more than a trading post in 1825. Today it encompasses over 850 acres and is also home to three cruise ships. The main exports from the Port are cotton, sulfur and grain. The major imports include sugar, bananas and tea.

The Port is home to the Official Tall Ship of Texas the Elissa. This ship is not a replica but a survivor. It was built in Aberdeen Scotland in 1877. It is a three masted iron hull ship that is 205' long and 100' tall at it's mast.
