Texas Maritime Museum - Rockport,TX

Opened July 1st 1989 and attracts visitors from around the world. It has exhibits, artifacts and programs for visitors of all ages.

One of the main displays follows the history of the LaBelle which was a French ship that sank in Matagorda Bay off the Texas coast. It was found buried under of sand and silt in 17 feet of water.

The Museum also houses the William H. Mann research library which has over 2000 volumes available for use. There are other areas that make the Museum a worthwhile visit. A small admission fee is charged.
