Alligators on the Myakka River. The water is warm enough now that they spend most of their time in the river. Their eyeballs and part of their snout can usually be seen during the day. As the water in the river cools, they are sometimes seen on the banks sunning themselves.
This tower was built by volunteers for a total height of 76 feet. Great view from the top.
Turkey buzzards are found out through the park. They roost in trees and are most seen in flocks swarming over dead animals and lost tourists.
These are 'Golden Silk' spiders (aka Banana Spiders because of their yellow bodies). This spider will only bite when held or pinched. Their bite is like a small bee sting. Their prey include flies, bees, wasps small moths and munchkins following the yellow brick road. They are noted for the wicked webs they weave.
