We spent the day at Lion Country Safari www.lioncountrysafari.com. They were the nation's first "cageless zoos". They have been a leader in the conservation movement since 1967. They have won numerous awards and participate in numerous programs.
The journey starts as you drive your vehicle through the grounds. It's about a four mile drive, at your own pace. You are given a DVD to listen to as you drive through the compound. The animals are from the various continents. White Rhinos from Zimbabwe, Blackbuck and Water Buffalo from SW Africa. Kulan and Nilgai from India.
We found an area where children and grown ups could feed and pet the Giraffes. This is located outside of the drive though area. The Safari World Amusement Park has a walk through area as well as rides, food and gifts.
Dorothy found lions, tigers and bears at Safari World.
She is still looking for 'The Wiz'. She may have found him here.........
