Port Aransas, TX

Port Aransas is on the north end of Mustang Island and is the only established city. The population here is about 3,480 and usually more in the winter as 'snowbirds' take roost here. The average annual temp here is 72 degrees.

The 'Port A' ferry, run by the Texas D.O.T. carries passengers and vehicles between Port A and Aransas Pass. It continues SH 361 for about 1/4 mile across the Corpus Christi Channel. There are 8 boats total that run 24/7 365 days a year. Two of the newer boats can carry vehicles up to 85' combined length.

A ship bound for Corpus Christi is being 'escorted' by a few playful dolphins. No known reason why they 'surf' the bow wave of ships. Maybe just for fun.
