Severe weather

 The Tampa area has seen it's share of severe weather today. 3.99" of rain has been recorded at Tampa Int Airport breaking a March 31 record from 1931. 60 MPH winds were also recorded. Millions of dollars in damage were reported at the Sun 'n Fun Fly-in in Tampa. Planes were destroyed and people were taken to hospitals.


The weather is reminiscent of tornado season in Minnesota.

Sarasota also recorded wind gusts of up to 60 MPH some of which destroyed some mobile homes on Long Boat Key. Over 2" of rain has fallen so far today.

Today is our final day in Sarasota. It's hard to believe that we left the cold and snow of Minnesota five weeks ago. This weekend will be spent east of Tampa at Lazy Days Campground then on to the city of Micanopy, 'The town that time forgot', located south of Gainsville.
