The Sarasota Chalk Festival is a ten day event that is free for all to participate and attend. In 2011 it attracted 200,000 visitors to Sarasota and over 500 artists. The artists use pastel chalks and the blacktop pavement as their canvas.
The scenes consist of 2D and 3D (anamorphic) art as well as vertical art in various locations through out the city.
The Festival ends tomorrow and the city opens the streets back up and allows the murals to remain on the pavement for one month.
