Goshen, Indiana is the county seat of Elkhart County. The town history goes back to the mid 1800's. In 1852 there were about 20 or so buildings in the town.

Several buildings on this block date to the late 1800's

 The Goshen Police Booth was completed in 1939, and is located on Main St or back then known as the Lincoln Highway. It was originally built to protect the two banks that were located kitty-corner from each other. John Dillinger and his gang had been in the area in earlier years robbing banks. By the time it was completed Dillinger and his gang were dead. It later was used as the 'front desk' for the police department.
