Duluth day deux

Algowood  was built in 1981 and is 730' long. It flies the flag of Canada. The ship is self unloading with a 261' boom as seen in the photo below. It left the harbor at 9:05 pm.

Duluth has a nice hiking/biking trail system for everybody. From easy to challenging and from minutes to hours. We rode the 'Lakewalk' which is 7.3 miles, leaves Canal Park, follows the lake shore to 60th Ave E. There are many points of interest along the way.

Duluth Rose Gardens is six acres and was opened in 1965. There are over 3,000 roses and 12,000 non-rose plantings, lilies, evergreens, perennials and herbs. Brick walkways connect the beds.

There are two memorials along the route. The Korean Vets Memorial was dedicated in 2003. The Vietnam Vets Memorial is a tribute to those who served and to those that have not returned.

And a finale....
