Ashville, NC

Asheville is the 11th largest city in North Carolina. It began as a town in 1784. The Blue Ridge Parkway runs through Asheville. It is also home to the Biltmore Estates built by George Vanderbilt in 1889. Purported to be the largest house in the U.S. with 250 rooms.

The elevation of Asheville is about 2100 feet. It is fairly cool in the summer, avg 85 degrees and does see about a foot of snow in the winter months.

The RV park we are staying in is about 15 miles south of Asheville off I-26. The park Rutledge Lake RV has received numerous awards.
