Red Wing MN

The two things Red Wing is most noted for is pottery and boots. Red Wing Stoneware was founded in 1878. It merged with other pottery companies and Red Wing Potteries Inc was formed in 1936. There is now a museum, mall and various other specialty shops that are related to the pottery business.

Red Wing Shoes was founded in 1905 by Charles Beckman and within 10 years they were producing over 200,000 pairs of boots per year. There is a Red Wing Shoe Museum in town that tells the history and heritage of Red Wing Shoes. It is also home to the world's largest boot. Size 638 1/2D classic boot. 16' tall, 20 feet long and 7 feet wide. You can also schedule a factory tour.

We spent one night at Treasure Island Casino's RV Park. Nothing special, you are parked on blacktop. Cheap enough for one night. You have access to the hotel pool and showers, laundry are in the RV Park.
